Now in its 23rd installment, the Dresden Science Night on June 26, 2026, invited visitors to discover research, ask questions, and try things out for themselves. Over 30 universities, research institutions, and companies opened their doors and provided a fascinating and varied program for visitors young and old. Fraunhofer IIS’s Engineering of Adaptive Systems Division once again took part in this special evening of science.
Our laboratories and research departments were bustling with activity late into the night. Visitors had a chance to see fascinating microchip structures, discuss the security of tomorrow’s data transmission, and witness robots at work. Together with Fraunhofer colleagues, they explored the question of how artificial intelligence and digital twins will change the production environment of the future. Above all, our tours of the demo production environment and the numerous hands-on activities provided an opportunity for visitors not only to see research but also to experience it first-hand and engage with our scientists.
The many insightful questions, interesting conversations, and inquisitive faces once again demonstrated the value of direct exchange between research and society. We’re grateful to all our visitors for their interest in our work – and we’re already looking forward to the next Dresden Science Night in 2028. Perhaps we’ll see you there!
