From November 25 to 26, 2025, a two-day training course on the topic of predictive maintenance in production processes was held at IIS in Dresden. This was an opportunity for skilled workers and managers from industry and research to learn about modern, AI-driven maintenance strategies in a compact and practical format. The training focused on how predictive maintenance can create specific competitive advantages via intelligent condition monitoring.
On the first day, participants were given a comprehensive theoretical introduction to predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, machine learning, and the mathematical principles of data analysis. Practical examples from industrial applications highlighted how these methods can already be put to successful use today. On the second day, the focus shifted to the practical component of the course. Using real demonstrators, including a CNC milling machine, participants had a chance to independently examine measurement data, extract features, analyze data, and train their first AI models.
After completing the training, participants had a sound understanding of AI-based predictive maintenance and can now make targeted decisions about which AI methods are suitable for their own applications. With the checklist and road map provided, they also have practical tools when it comes to taking the first steps toward introducing corresponding solutions at their company in a structured manner.
The next course will be held in spring 2026 – contact us now to secure your place! Please note the training will be held in German.
