On May 25, 2023, representatives from business, research and politics assembled in Dresden for the second Saxon AI Conference to share knowledge and discuss the latest developments and trends in artificial intelligence. 2023.

Prof. Peter Schneider, Director of the EAS Division at Fraunhofer IIS, presented the AI Application and Test Center and explained how Saxony’s SMEs stand to benefit from collaborating with it. Overall, he rates the event a success: “When it comes to AI and Saxon SMEs, there’s still a lot of work to do to bring users and providers together and to familiarize companies with the myriad ways they could use AI. What’s now key for Saxony and for its SMEs and research institutions is to focus on specific AI topics and consider them in more depth. It’s about communicating the potential of AI applications and helping companies take their first steps in that direction. This hinges on establishing an intensive back and forth between research and application, successful use cases, training and continuously adding to the store of knowledge.” Once again, the conference’s fascinating presentations and podium discussions – as well as the lively conversations in between – generated new input and ideas for further developing Saxony as an AI hub.
